PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE – MAY 2025
“Your Front Row Seat in the Board Room”
Hi Neighbors,
We hope that you will attend our Annual Zoom meeting on Monday, May 12th, 2025. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. sharp. The meeting info will be sent to all shareholders prior to the meeting.
We plan this spring/summer on implementing the following projects:
- Installation of New Benches
- Continuation of our Roofing project
- Continuation of installing EV (Electric Vehicle) charging stations
- Garage Inspections
Additionally, I recently received the news that the old “Milk Barn” located next door to Dunkin Donuts on Hillside Avenue and Springfield Boulevard has been approved to be a legal cannabis dispensary. This is a personal defeat to me because I really thought that I had a strong case against granting permission for this business to open. I had support from our politicians, the Van Buren H.S. principal, and even the PTA’s President, all of whom called the police and lobbied against the “pot” dispensary. Many students congregate at the bus stop on a daily basis and the Office of Cannabis Management NEVER should have approved a license for a shop this close to a school. I can only hope that it does not affect our peaceful way of life at BPMT.
Based on many comments and requests, it seems shareholders like it when I reference our House Rules because many residents find them very informative. Each year all 850 of our apartments are delivered updated copies of our “House Rules.” I will continue to do my best to include different House Rules each month.
12. Yard Sales
Note – 1st violation -warning letter and $100.00 fine, 2nd violation - $200.00 fine, 3rd violation -$300.00 fine.
Please remember that our private driveways are for assigned outdoor parking spots, assigned garages, garbage disposal (in some driveways there are storage units). The only trucks allowed in our driveways are ones doing work on behalf of BPMT, such as boiler room treatments, garbage trucks, Verizon, Spectrum, Con Ed, etc.
Residents who employ moving trucks, repairmen, delivery trucks, etc., MUST ONLY USE THE FRONT ENTRANCES OF YOUR APARTMENTS. However, you may also use the driveways to drop off & pickup, for example, elderly or disabled individuals, and dropping off your groceries wherein our security guard will allow you approximately 15 minutes. Again, only cars with assigned outdoor spots or garages are permitted to park in our driveways. Your car may be stickered, or as per posted signs in all of our driveways, violators will have their vehicles towed at the owner’s expense.
Hopefully the printing of these House Rules will be helpful in the future as we have had problems from time to time with visitors.
We will print the winning raffle numbers from the Annual Meeting drawing in June’s “President’s Message.”
That’s it for now.
Speak with you soon.
